Jonathan Daniel Boyden is a poet and actor from Chicago, and is happy to be a part of Imani and the Magic Drum! He is best known for his role as Chase in the award-winning web series The Park (Stone Soup Theater Group), in which he was nominated for Best Dramatic Performance in the Minnesota Web Fest (2020), and won best supporting actor in the Two Roads International Film Festival (2020). Jonathan studied acting and earned a BA in Theater from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

He also studied acting in Second City’s acting program and workshopped clowning at the Helikos Theatre School in Florence, Italy. Jonathan is currently applying for grad school to become an LCSW, to practice as a mental health therapist. He is also submitting his debut poetry book I’m Home for publication, while he is creating his next work. Jonathan loves seeking for whatever connects us all to ourselves, to the love that we all need, and to each other.
